We are pleased to announce that Minoru Ogiso (former Director of Policy Department, Japan Association for New Economy Secretariat) has joined Makaira in January 2022. He has been appointed as the Director of the Makaira Public Policy Institute.
In pursuit of Makaira’s vision of “a society that continues to holistically update itself,” Mr. Ogiso will use his experience and knowledge in the public and private sectors to support the social transformation of a wide range of client companies and organizations, as well as to research and disseminate information on the rule-making process and various policy and social issue areas.

Profile:
Minoru Ogiso graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law in 1994, and subsequently joined the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism). In 2006, he joined Rakuten, Inc. as Vice General Manager of the Public Relations Office, and served concurrently since June 2012 in the Secretariat of the Japan Association of New Economy (JANE). As Director of the Policy Department of JANE, he spearheaded various policy advocacy activities in a wide range of areas. In January 2022, he became independent and established the policy liaison Dotank Cross Border Co., Ltd. and joined Makaira Co., Ltd. to become the director of the Makaira Public Policy Institute.
