Jim W. Harff, CEO of Global Communicators, LLC.,(Washington, D.C.) Makaira’s strategic partner, visited Japan, and Makaira and Network for Policy Analysis co-hosted a symposium on Public Diplomacy. Along with Mr.Harff, we had Mr. Tomohiko Taniguchi (Professor of Graduate School of SDM, Keio University and Special Advisor to the Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe), Mr. Toru Takagi (Chief Producer of Center of Large-scale Planning and Development, NHK) and Kaoru Nemoto (Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Tokyo) as panelists, while Ko Fujii the Representative Director and CEO of Makaira K.K. moderated the panel discussion. The symposium was titled “Obstacle to Japan’s strategy on public diplomacy for 2020 -importance of the power of communication in politics and diplomacy. ” We would like to thank all the panelists and participants.
